Local independent North East professional recruitment agency Central Employment has this morning announced a management buy-out by three members of senior management with a combined 50 years’ experience at Central Employment & within the recruitment industry.
Established in 1979, Central Employment is one of the most established and oldest recruiters in the North East with over 36 years of industry expertise. Over the years they have worked with and recruited for some of the largest businesses and brand names in the North East. Specialising in temporary, contract and permanent recruitment across a broad spectrum of industries; supplying staff with full UK coverage.
Jo Caprelian, previous MD of Central Employment, has now retired. Paul Ponton, current Operations Manager, is to become the new Managing Director. It is also intended that current senior managers Mark Trett & Steve Hart will join the Central Employment board as directors.
The buyout will help to ensure the continued stability and growth of Central Employment as three of the companies longest serving and key senior managers have made the commitment to invest in the brand.
During the announcement, Paul Ponton said “We’ve made excellent progress already, two weeks after we closed the deal we broke our sales record from 2014, sales are up 13% compared to the same period last year. We have some ambitious growth plans in place and we expect the results for the full year to be in line with those expectations”.
Paul continued: “The exciting growth which we have seen so far this year has allowed us to implement our carefully planned & strategic recruitment campaign earlier than anticipated with three new members to the Central team recently appointed. The decision to invest and develop in our own staff is proving to be hugely beneficial and we are now proud to be guiding and mentoring some of the most talented, capable and customer focused consultants in the region. Our number one customers are our people, we look after our employees first and then the clients will last.”
Steve Hart added: “We’re delighted to have reached agreement with the previous owner and are very excited with the prospects and plans we have made for the future, the addition of the bespoke training division to our recruitment portfolio will help to create an even stronger brand name. This will help to allow Central Employment to significantly expand its regional presence.”
During the announcement, Mark Trett also said “We are a well-established local business with old fashioned values and with that in mind we intend to continue our emphasis on exceptional customer service levels & our relationship orientated approach. We want to continue to build on the old fashioned values and strong foundations we have inherited from our previous owners, it’s been almost two years in the making since we made the decision to buy Central & in that time we’ve made excellent progress and have slowly been shaping the company in the direction we want to take it”.
