Central Employment is currently seeking a CAD Technician on behalf of a prominent client in the packaging industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a potential for permanent placement based on performance.
Job Purpose:
As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for designing and developing packaging solutions using CAD software. You will collaborate closely with the design and production teams to create packaging products that meet client specifications, while also ensuring designs are practical for manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, modify, and optimize packaging designs using CAD software such as Artios, Kasemake, or Impact.
- Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications for packaging projects.
- Work closely with the design, production, and engineering teams to ensure designs meet both creative and functional requirements.
- Assist in the development and improvement of packaging prototypes.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to industry standards and best practices for manufacturing.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines are met.
- Review and refine designs based on feedback and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all designs and versions for reference.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience as a CAD Technician in the packaging or related industry is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Artios, Kasemake, or Impact would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Familiarity with packaging materials, design limitations, and production processes is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with different departments and interpret client needs.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
Shift Information:
- You will be required to work on a rotating shift pattern: 6:00 AM – 1:30 PM (Early Shift) and 1:30 PM – 9:00 PM (Late Shift). Flexibility is essential for this role.
