Overtime: Up to £17.50 per hour

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Monday to Friday)

Central Employment is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Assembly Operative on behalf of a reputable client operating in the industrial and commercial heating industry. Job Purpose:
As a Mechanical Assembly Operative, you will be responsible for the assembly of heating units and related components. Working from technical drawings, you will ensure products are built to exact specifications and maintain a high standard of workmanship. The role involves working independently and as part of a team, ensuring that all work is documented accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble industrial and commercial heating units following technical drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure accurate assembly of components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assembly tasks.
  • Complete job sheets and work output documentation, maintaining accurate records of work completed.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure all assembled products meet company standards.
  • Identify and report any defects or issues that arise during the assembly process.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organised workspace.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly or a related role, preferably within the industrial or commercial heating industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in assembling components.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to complete job sheets and work documentation.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety procedures in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
