In a successful display of solidarity and compassion, the remarkable team at Central has once again proven their dedication to making a positive impact in the community. This year’s 50K Your Way Challenge, in support of Changing Lives, has surpassed all expectations and made a substantial difference in the fight against domestic abuse.
Domestic abuse remains a pressing issue affecting countless individuals, with over 75,000 people in the UK facing high and imminent risk of harm each year. In response to this urgent need, the funds raised through the 50K Your Way challenge will directly benefit the 4,500 survivors of domestic abuse supported annually by Changing Lives.
The impact of the team’s efforts cannot be overstated. Contributions as modest as £50 could provide essential welcome packs for those seeking refuge from domestic abuse, while £150 could offer crucial emergency accommodation and meals for affected families. Additionally, £250 could cover trauma-informed counseling sessions, ensuring survivors receive the specialised support they require.
Central’s commitment to the cause was unwavering, with a pledge to donate £50 per staff member participating in the challenge, along with an additional £150 on behalf of the top performer. The collective distance covered by the team totaled nearly 2000km, raising an impressive £850 for the cause. The standout achiever of this year’s challenge was our Lead Tutor, Maureen, who covered an outstanding 280km – a remarkable feat deserving of praise and recognition.
The team at Central extends their heartfelt gratitude to all participants and supporters who contributed to this meaningful cause. Together, they have made a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by domestic abuse. By standing united, they have demonstrated that collective action and support can bring about transformative change. Congratulations to Team Central for their exceptional achievement and unwavering commitment to creating a safer and more compassionate community.
