Today marks the beginning of Recycle Week, a nationwide annual campaign, aimed at promoting recycling and raising awareness.
The campaign encourages individuals, businesses, and communities to take action by recycling more, recycling correctly and making sustainable choices in their everyday lives and consequently reducing their waste.
The goal of Recycle Week is to emphasise the importance of recycling in conserving resources, reducing landfill waste and minimising environmental impact. By encouraging individuals and communities to recycle, the campaign aims to create a positive and lasting change in waste management practices.
At Central, we are committed to sustainable practices and policies, recently donating all of our old office furniture to local schools rather than being discarded in landfills. Additionally, we are now almost a paper-free office and aim to be 100% paperless by the end of 2023. We are also implementing the reduction of plastic use throughout the business and hope to be a 100% plastic free office soon too. Our offices at @Portland House have also been designed with sustainability in mind; using carbon neutral flooring, motion sensor LED lighting, eco-friendly paint and electric car charging ports to name a few. Some of our chairs are even made from 100% recycled plastic bottle tops too.
Reduce, reuse, recycle. Let’s reduce waste, reuse resources, and recycle for a greener planet. Together, we can make a difference.
