Central to our local community with the NUFC Foundation

This week, Director Steve Hart attended an event, hosted by the NU Foundation and NUFC Business Club.

One of Centrals’ chosen charities this year is the NUFC Foundation, the official charity of the Newcastle United Football Club. Established in 2008, the foundations aim is to create positive change in the local community through the power of sport.

The foundation delivers a range of projects and activities across four main areas: education, health and well-being, inclusion and football development. They work with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, using the passion of football and the Newcastle United brand to engage and inspire individuals and communities.

Dawn Barber, Head of Business for the NU Foundation, shared an insight into the incredible work they do for children and young people in local communities, alongside Community Learning Manager, Lee Smith, who discussed some of the fantastic projects and programs they are involved with in our local area.

An inspirational young man named Joe, shared a heartfelt and powerful story of his journey and the invaluable support he has received from the foundation. A touching moment!

Siobhan Brown introduced the NUFC Business Club, with Steve Hart, delivering a speech and share information with attendees on the various ways members and businesses can get involved in supporting this beloved foundation; delivering positive outcomes and making a difference to many people’s lives within the Newcastle area.

At Central we don’t just talk about supporting our community, we take action, having directly placed young people from the foundation into employment within our own business. A worthy cause close to all our hearts.
