This year Central Employment are proud to be supporting our local Mental Health charity; Mind Tyneside. In efforts to raise funds and awareness for the mental health services available in our community, the Central team spent Saturday walking a ghastly 10 miles all the way from Tynemouth to Ouseburn, with pitstops in all the best pubs along the way!
With 1 in 6 workers experiencing a mental health problem across the UK, we felt the importance to raise awareness of the volume of workers currently dealing with mental health issues across the nation, as well as reaffirming to those suffering amongst us that there is nothing to be ashamed about; maintaining good mental health is just as important as maintaining good physical health.
For those in need, Tyneside and Northumberland Mind work with the local community by providing services, support and training to individuals, families and businesses. The money we have raised will help them save and change lives for the better across the North East.
In total, it took the team eight hours to walk from the Turk’s Head all the way to the Cluny, which was made much easier with the team’s high spirits, enthusiasm and dedication to supporting such an important cause.
A tremendous effort from the entire team at Central and a big, big thank you to everyone who got involved this year!
